  1. I went to store with nothing in my mind
and I smelled it and in love with it

  2. I wish you would review Knowing by Estee Lauder. I've been meaning to try that perfume for years. I've read reviews but you're the next best thing to smelling the perfume.

I've got a review coming up soon!

  4. @KatiePuckrikSmells Hey Katie, what is your opinion on Sensuous Noir? :)

  5. Cinnabar would be great for her to review. It would be fun if she had a vinage perfume chanel and a new perfume chanel.

I think this one hits a range from 20s to older. Not really a teenage thing, but also not an older, busy kind of scent.

  7. do you think this perfume is for the older crowd? I', 27 and I read somewhere that this appeals to older women and it is kind of putting me off it.

Overall, Estee Lauder perfumes are good quality at prices that aren't too painful.

  9. I smelt this today, there is something special about this perfume I cannot put my finger on it. I dont think it yells sexy in an overwhelming way, I think its a nice perfume to wear to go to a dinner party! I dont know why I think of that when I smell it.It smells like the perfect touch to add to a well thought out oufit. I think its reasonablly priced too

And even more essential is that it's you-approved. It's so nice to bond with a perfume, to feel like it really reflects you.

  11. Again such an interesting review, when I was younger I would wear pure sandalwood essential oil as my perfume and I think that sensous hits the mark for being warm and sensual (can I use that word to describe it again?) but not over the top and carries itself well as a daytime scent without being overpowering.

A fail for Sensuous – a win for your mother's stash.

  13. I love sandalwood, incense and yoghurt. But I hate Sensuous and so does everyone around me. I pinched it from my mother's stash and promptly returned it.

  14. I'm glad you like both. If you do end up reviewing those fully later it would be great. Hmmm maybe I'll have to buy them both as birthday presents to myself.

I've been meaning to review those. They're both nice – and completely different to each other. Sensuous Nude strikes me as a soft, beachy skin scent – people talk about smelling coconut in it, but it strikes me more as figgy fruitiness.

  16. Would you be able to do a review on Sensuous Nude and/or Sensuous Noir? I'm really considering Sensuous Nude but it's such a lot of money to dish out I would like to hear your opinion on it (though I know ultimately it's only mine that counts!)

@moviefan19S I've been thinking about this one, because it's pretty hard to find a sandalwood-forward perfume on the women's counter. For another fragrance that has something of the same feeling as Sensuous, check out White Musk for Men (yes!) at The Body Shop. It's soft, woodsy and mmmmm.

  18. Thanks for the review Katie! I smelled it in a store last Saturday and I was a bit scared it would be too sharp and soapy, but I was quickly drawn into smelling my arm more and more! It even stayed on after 2 showers! Any recommendations of perfumes that are like that one too? I'm getting it! Thanks a lot!

@SJMG123 Wow! What a terrific find. You're so right – the original Samsara had real sandalwood – more mellow, more nuanced than the synthetic stuff they have to use nowadays, owning to sandalwood's scarcity.

Seems like your mum's bottle was stored in ideal conditions: out of light/heat, so it stood the test of time.

  20. i went through my mums perfumes the other day and found a bottle of samsara never opened from when it first came out so the real sandalwood was used in it its such a luxurious sent i love it !!!!! and i was suprised that the perfume hadent turned :)
